Since you shared what appears to be a real name and email address, I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you are not a troll and were genuinely interested in a response to your highly insightful and intellectually rigorous comment:

WRONG. Why would you make such an assumption about someone you don’t even know – me?

However, your question assumes a parallel that doesn't exist, because candidates running for high public office are still mostly Caucasion. That hasn’t stopped black people from supporting white candidates – in fact, both Bill and Hillary Clinton have
enjoyed broad support from black voters, and Hillary Clinton probably still would have had Obama not run the better campaign.

I can’t speak for all 65+ million voters who pulled the lever for Obama, but judging from what I’ve read, heard, and seen, more people enthusiatically voted for Obama than against McCain.

Yes indeed, your comment says more about you than about the voting behavior of Black Americans.

"Horrified" is an extreme word that you have inserted into this dialogue. What is horrifying, is that the Republican ticket, bereft of any ideas that resonate with the American voter, had resorted to smear and fear towards Obama that had illicited horrifying utterances from their supporters.

It is clearly evident in videos of McCain supporters entering and exiting McCain and/or Palin rallies, that many of these people believe that Obama's race is a disqualifying factor.

In every election since the voting rights acts were passed, black Americans have had no choice but to vote for or against a white man. This year, for the first time ever, one of the candidates had a much darker skin tone than the other. Obama, the man with the darker skin tone, did not run as a black man. He ran as a man who wanted to transcend race ... a man who never wanted to make anyone's skin color an issue.

I do not speak for white people or black people, rather I am very comfortable speaking for Obama supporters. We voted for this man because of his superior character and brilliant mind. Obama, the man, radiates calm, confidence and maturity. If we voted against McCain on anything, it is because he lacked those traits.

For you to suggest that black people voted against McCain rather than voting FOR Obama, then you have clearly said more about yourself than you have about the voting behavior of black people.

I'm hoping that Obama will win the election but I'm not expecting much because what you said is true. There are many Americans who will not vote for him because of the fact that he is black.

Wow, sorry to hear about your ongoing headache problems. I've heard of low blood sugar headaches but didn't know they could be so devestating. BTW I have a low GI cookbook you could borrow and get an idea of what/how to cook low GI. It has some tasty recipes.
